Levi Clarke entered the world with a steering wheel in his hand. But it wasn’t always driving that captured the young fella’s attention – if it was extreme then it had Levi’s name on it.

“I was raised on a farm in the Gold Coast hinterland which meant I had motorbikes and cars around me from a young age. I was 4 years of age when I jumped on my first motorbike and I wasn’t much older when I first slipped behind the wheel. I always love speed and cars.”

In his early teens he attended many track days on his bike but never pushed the limits to actually compete. By his late teens Levi took up wake boarding, a different kind off thrill. He did it every day after school and weekends but the competition bug didn’t bite – at that stage.

Water was in his veins and after school he completed his apprenticeship in Marine Trimming. He also began riding bikes again but this didn’t last long when he discovered “drifting.”

Levi first learnt of the sport by helping his friend out in the pits at the local Stadium Drift comps. He then took his first competitive step Levi then entering his daily car (Holden VY SS Ute) into a Day of Drift event held for beginners. He didn’t know what to expect but from that day on he knew that drifting was a sport he wanted to master.

Mid 2010 Levi swapped out his KXF250 and brought his first track car – a Nissan Skyline R32. He attended a few competitions, entering in the “Street Class” and it was about then that he knew that drifting was the sport for him. During the off season Levi started to get a team together and they built up a new chassis, a Nissan Skyline R32.4 running a RB25/30, which they began the 2011 series with. Levi competed in LVL 2 Stadium drift and took out the championship (winning 5 out of 7 rounds) he also took out the Archerfield Drift champion ship in his first full year of drifting.

At the end of 2011 Gary from Tokage Racing Imports offered Levi a pro drive in the 2JZ powered Toyota Soarer. The big turning point came in early 2012 when Levi landed Exedy as a major sponsor. With their support Levi managed to get a few podiums and was crowned the Short Track series champion in 2012 (wining 2 out of 3 rounds). 

The 2014 season was another turning point for Levi with further confirmation he was in the right sport for him. “I finished 4th place overall for the ADGP series, was named Rooky of the Year 2013/14, Best presented car 2013/14 and gained my Formula Drift Asia License.” In that same year (2014) he entered his first Formula Drift Asia round Sydney where he really made a name for himself taking out first place above some of the biggest names in drifting worldwide! The 2014/15 season was Levis first “full year” in the S15 finishing of the ADGP season just short of 1st place in the champion ship (due to pushing hard at round 3 and collecting the wall) he finished 2nd 

So where to for Levi and his emerging drifting skills? “I want to continue to push the envelope to the edge and be the very best I can be. With the team backing me we have a shot at the big time in this sport!
